Chris is currently at the Engineering Thermodynamics department of the TU Ilmenau to get trained on the assembly and usage of microfluidic fuel cells for his in-depth practical in our research team.

Varun was awarded a WISE scholarship of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to work with us on 3-dimensional current collectors for 10 weeks. He studies chemical engineering at NIT Warangal in India. We wish him much success with his project.

We congratulate Philip Krämer on the successful defense of his master’s thesis and on his degree in Renewable Energy Technology at the TU Ilmenau. It was a great pleasure for Julia to support Philip as an external supervisor in his research on microfluidic fuel cells with Jörg König and Christian Cierpka from Engineering Thermodynamics.

    Nastia and Julia are at the annual meeting of CRC/TRR 247 in Willingen, discussing ideas for collaborative research projects where electrochemical impedance spectroscopy can contribute to a better understanding of interf(/ph)asial processes at oxide electrocatalysts, while hiking through the snowy landscape of the Sauerland.

    Philip from the TU Ilmenau is visiting this week to look closer into the chemistry aspects of his thesis project. After giving a talk, he will work in our labs with the microfluidic fuel cell setup developed at the Engineering Thermodynamics department (Prof. Christian Cierpka, Dr.-Ing. Jörg König). He is currently finishing his master’s degree in Renewable Energy Technology.
